The Samurai’s path
When you practice martial arts, one of the first lesson you’re taught is this one :
Whatever your quest, whatever your goals and whatever the fights you’ll have to go through, the only foe you’ll have to really face over and over again for a lifetime is you.
Samurais experimented this through battles, fights and quests.
They knew that, they were the only person to blame if they had to face a failure or a defeat.
They knew that the true dangers they’ll have to overcome were their own destructive and personal emotions like fear or jealousy; guilt or frustration.
They knew that their weapon was not their katana; they knew it was their soul.
That’s the reason why designing our 35 next years is like being on a samurai’s path.
It deeply means knowing how to handle our emotions and take full responsability for what happens in our life.
It means being ready to take risk without fear of consequences or shame of what people will say.
If you decide to walk this way, you’ll have to fight yourself and overcome strong emotions like fear, frustration, guilt, impotence all of them assorted with some very annoying doubts, lonelyness times and disbelief periods.
Whoever we are, becoming this kind of samurai means improving ourself and our skills and be ready to start the process from the beginning all over again.
That’s what daily experiments the musician who rehearses and plays his instrument 8 hours days.
That’s what experiments the free diver before the last breath, not knowing if he will pass out or not.
That’s what all of us have to face when we decide to break the status quo and decide to live the life we deserve.
That’s the reason why re-designing our 35 next years is like being on the samurai’s path.
I took it several years ago and I’m ready to tell you how to go through it.
But I can’t lead the personal battles of yours.
I can show you the path, but you’ll have to walk the steps.
You’re the only person able to become the warrior you deserve to be.
